Africa firsthand April 2011 saw 15 people set off on a trip of a lifetime to Africa. When they have returned they will never be the same again. >>> Check the special edition newsletter The 15 day trip included working with local people in light construction, painting and refurbishing school classrooms, learning more about the schools work and child sponsorship and finishing up with a wonderful visit to the Mikumi National Park. The 2nd trip was August 9 to August 23. The 3rd Trip was October 8 to 24. These trips are wonderful opportunities for people to see and be involved in the work first hand. You see it in publications and documentaries but to meet the people, experience the culture, and to see the real Africa for yourself is something else. To worship in an Africa church like that at Kitelera is just fantastic. Memories that will never be forgotten. It is hard when you see a need and the Lord challenges you to do something about it, not to obey. One of the past team members saw the great need to help with the church at Kitelera whilst there and has provided the means for the new church building. Praise the Lord! Construction is well underway and we are looking forward to joining the folks there in worship in their new church building. What a privilege and blessing that will be.
The original TLM building project started in October 2007 when 5 houses were built. This is a very needy group of people. Next trip, at their request, a church was built for worship and village activities and meetings. The schools work seemed a natural development. So, as the Lord led kids4school was born. 2012 There will be 4 teams heading off in 2012 and various abilities will be needed - but the greatest is a willingness just to do what is needs to be done. Come along, see and experience the real Africa. What we can guarantee is a life changing experience.
